Update to UK Company Details plugin

Fast Data Science are pleased to announce we have updated the UK Company Details Google Sheets™ plugin. The plugin allows you to retrieve details such as company number, incorporation date, address, and directors’ details from Companies House (the UK company registry) and automatically populate them in columns of a Google Sheets™ spreadsheet.

What’s New in the UK Company Details Plugin - update at 8 October 2026

Now, if you enter an ambiguous name, you are presented with a dropdown menu where you can select the correct company, and the remaining columns in the spreadsheet will be immediately populated.

You can also enter a Companies House ID instead of a name. Also, the tool now returns the LEI and ISIN of companies where available.

What data fields does the plugin pull out?

• Company Name – Registered legal name of the business
• Company Registration Number (CRN) – Official unique identification number assigned by Companies House
• Registered Office Address – Complete official address (Line 1, Line 2, Town/City, County, Country, Postcode)
• Company Type – Legal structure (e.g., Private Limited Company, PLC)
• Company Status – e.g., Active, Dissolved, Liquidation
• Country of Origin – Country where the company was originally registered
• Date of Incorporation – Official date the company was established
• Accounting Reference Dates – Financial year-end day and month
• Next Accounts Due Date – Deadline for submitting upcoming annual accounts
• Last Accounts Date – End date of the most recent accounting period filed
• Accounts Type – Filing classification (e.g., Micro-entity, Small, Full)
• Legacy Annual Return Dates – Historical return deadlines and filing dates
• Mortgage Charges & Securities – Summary of registered charges, including Total, Outstanding, Partially Satisfied, and Fully Satisfied charges
• SIC Code – Standard Industrial Classification code identifying primary business activity
• Limited Partnership Details – Count of General and Limited Partners (where applicable)
• API URI – Direct link to the official Companies House record
• Previous Company Names – Historical legal name changes
• Confirmation Statement Dates – Next due date and last filing date for the annual CS01 statement
• LEI and ISIN - these identifiers can be used to cross reference with other systems such as GLEIF and convert to stock tickers

What’s New in the UK Company Details Plugin - update at 20 July 2026

We’ve rolled out a major update to make the plugin faster, more robust, and easier to use. Here is a breakdown of the latest improvements, bug fixes, and the introduction of our new Premium plan.

Tiered plans and large batch support

• To keep our services sustainable, we have split the plugin into a Free and Premium tier.
• Smart 50-item limits for free users: The free version now handles batches of up to 50 items per request. If a list exceeds 50, the plugin will seamlessly process the first 50 and gently remind the user to upgrade for larger datasets.
• Under-the-Hood Request Batching (Premium): To prevent server crashes caused by massive datasets (some users were running 5,000 names at once!), we introduced an automated batching system. For Premium accounts ($4/month), the plugin now automatically breaks lists larger than 50 down into smaller, bite-sized groups of 50 behind the scenes, ensuring the API handles thousands of rows smoothly without overloading.

Workflow enhancements

• Added “Select All” Option: Tired of clicking every single lookup field one by one? We added a “Select all” toggle in the dropdown menu so you can grab every field in a single click.
• Smarter Default Columns: The “Names lookup column” now automatically defaults to Column A, saving you a setup step on every new spreadsheet.
• Bug fixes: some users had reported crashes for large inputs or incorrectly spelled company names. This is now fixed.
