UK Company Details Google Sheets™ plugin

Do you need to look up UK company details and all you have is the company name?

Fast Data Science has developed a Google Sheets™ add-on (plugin) called UK Company Details which finds UK company names in a string and puts company details from the Companies House dataset (the UK company registry) in the next columns.

To use the add-on, simply select the range of cells that contain the text you want to search, and then click on the add-on icon in the toolbar. The add-on will then scan the selected cells and put the Companies House IDs of any company names it finds in the next columns.

The add-on is very lightweight and easy to use, and it can be a great way to save time in your business when you need to identify company names in a large amount of text.

UK Company Details only finds UK companies. Companies in other jurisdictions are not supported.

Frequently asked questions about the UK Company Details plugin

1. How can I get UK company data for free either as a single company lookup, or as a downloadable dataset?

UK company data is available from Companies House at https://companieshouse.gov.uk as a data dump. The UK Company Details Google Sheets™ plugin will allow you to look up all fields in the Companies House data dump from within your spreadsheet for free. Here is the URL of the data dump: https://download.companieshouse.gov.uk/en_output.html . If you need to handle large numbers of companies at once, you will need to upgrade to the premium version of the plugin.

2. Is there a limit to how many companies your UK Company Details Google Sheets™ plugin can pull?

There is not a fixed limit in the UK Company Details Google Sheets™ plugin, but if you need to handle more than 50 companies in one go, you will need to upgrade to the premium version of the plugin.

If you need all UK companies then you can also download a single file from Companies House which has all data. Feel free to also talk to us about your requirements. If there is enough demand for this plugin then we can develop it further.

3. How can I look up the legal name of a company and other details?
