How we used a Natural Language Processing clustering algorithm to assist pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim to gain insights into and discover topics in their manufacturing processes. Boehringer has a large network of manufacturing facilities stretching across the globe. Drugs may be synthesised in one country, packaged in another, and shipped to a third country for distribution.

Natural language processing (NLP) is now disrupting the pharmaceutical industry as pharma companies are using NLP to aid decision making at all stages of drug development and go-to-market, from NLP for data redaction and anonymisation of sensitive data, NLP for pharma literature mining, NLP for drug discovery, NLP for drug named entity recognition, and NLP and AI for strategic clinical trial design.
For one client in the pharma industry, we developed cross-platform desktop tool which allows a user to import search results from PubMed for a particular term, and process them into knowledge graphs.
